Having designed residences in Washington, Idaho, Montana, California and Nevada, John understands the unique issues that rugged terrain poses, such as heavy snow loads, steep slopes, and difficult soil conditions. He is also familiar with diverse local building codes and neighborhood restrictions.

John seeks creative and innovative design solutions that harmonize with the natural environment, and has years of experience designing for environmentally critical sites. Although we are not Built-Green "specialists", with more and more homeowners choosing to go green, we are becoming well versed in the different technologies that can be incorporated into a "Built-Green" home. Some of these aspects we have already been using for efficiency of materials and for saving the homeowner's maintenance costs. We have also been incorporating such elements as reclaimed timbers from old buildings to give the structures a more rustic and lived-in look.
